Our Story

Patricia Tapia's journey in the industry spans over two decades, starting at the age of 18 as a caregiver. Her career blossomed as she ventured into opening her own assisted living facilities, both independent and assisted. Meanwhile, Vanessa and Felix Nunez, driven by their respective backgrounds, harbored a shared ambition to establish a business. With Vanessa's extensive experience in the health sector and over a decade in Human Resources, coupled with Felix's marketing prowess, the foundation was set for what would become Sunset Coast Assisted Living.

The serendipitous connection between Patricia and Vanessa, facilitated by Vanessa's mother, ignited the inception of Sunset Coast Assisted Living. Our facility embodies a holistic approach, with Patricia overseeing the caregiving team's management, while Vanessa meticulously handles the administrative backend, from personnel affairs to procurement and event coordination, ensuring seamless facility operations. Felix spearheads the financial and marketing endeavors, contributing to Sunset Coast's growth and outreach since its establishment in 2020.

The story gets even better with family being part of it. Patricia's children have joined the fold, with Karina Lopez assuming oversight of three facilities as Administrator, and Samuel and Christine Tapia embarking on their own facility in Claremont, CA.

 

As we continue to expand and evolve, Sunset Coast Assisted Living remains deeply rooted in the values of family, dedication, and compassionate care.
